Connie has been working in the corporate business world in the US and internationally for over a decade and has experience supporting businesses of every size and scope in a variety of industries. Her passion is in creating meaning, efficient, and effective systems for bookkeeping, cash flow management, financial projections, project budgets, and employee programs that are tailored to the needs of each individual business. 

Garden Community 

Connie founded the Apex Plant and Seed Swap is 2021. It is a monthly meeting of every level of gardener to gather and share their extra seeds, seedlings, house plants, outdoor plants, veggies, garden gear, books, ideas and more.  Sign up for the Plant/Seed Swap Newsletter.  

In 2026 Connie's family decided to open a produce stand at their home in Apex, NC so they could better share their excess produce with others and raise a little money to support their gardening habit and the plant/seed swap events.  The Apex Olive Street Produce Stand is open most days as long as there is produce to share. Dance Calling and Community

As a dance caller, Connie is known for being community-centered, beginner-caring, and able to bring a whole roomful of dancers of all skill levels quickly into the fun zone. As a teacher and facilitator, Connie strives to create a safe space for creativity, expression, and learning. Becoming a parent and then a global pandemic greatly reduced opportunities for safe community dancing, but Connie hopes to see you on a dance floor again someday. Writing and Health Education

Writing has always been an important part of Connie's personal and professional life. She enjoys reading and writing poetry, dabbling in story writing, and, most recently, has published a book for children about her daughter's journey with Type 1 Diabetes called The Best Type of Friend.  For several years Connie worked in health education with a focus on childbirth, infant feeding, and early parenting. Her passion for effective health communication was a major factor in her work on The Best Type of Friend. 

Expressive Arts, Retreats, and Workshops

Connie earned her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a post-masters certificate in Expressive Arts Therapy in 2010 from Appalachian State University in Boone, NC. Though she no longer works directly in the mental health field, she continues to stay connected to the expressive arts community created around the App State program. She joined the leadership team for the annual Expressive Arts Retreat at Wild Acres in Little Switzerland, NC in 2023. 

Weddings

Connie lives in Apex, NC close to Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill and will gladly travel regionally for wedding gigs. She loves offering wedding officiant services, especially to non-religious, queer or non-binary, or other extraordinary couples.
